This Vulnerable species is endemic to the Endemic Galapagos Islands (Ecuador), where restricted to Wolf, Darwin, Marchena, and Genovesa. Opuntia Echios var. Gigantea is listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species list as are many of the Galapagos cacti due to invasive species of rats and goats. Please Note : The plant or cuttings of this plant species were garden cultivated from an old collection and they were not removed from their native habitat. All Plants a grown in beautiful California weather under a 40% shade cloth. Make sure to slowly adapt all plants to your local weather. As a general rule of thumb I would recommend quarantining any recent additions to your collections & dousing with your favorite native pollinators friendly insect control prior to adding them to the general populations ALL PROCEEDS ARE GOING TO A STEM/PROGRAMMING PROGRAM AT THE SAN GABRIEL UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT CONTINUATION SCHOOL.
